Paired Text Teacher's Guide
This Paired Text Teacher’s Guide was created for instructors of kindergarten students to explore the topic of plants with their classes. It includes a synopsis for the selected non-fiction and fictional title, a reference to the professional selection aids utilized, brief author information, and suggested further readings and websites that are both engaging and high quality. The guide also includes nine specific teaching ideas corresponding to Virginia Standards of Learning (SOLs) in Science, English, and Fine Arts, a library connection, bulletin board displays, a pre-reading hook, and fifteen questions regarding the texts to promote literature appreciation and lifelong learning.
