Collection Development Plan
This Collection Development Plan addresses four areas for improvement at Florence Bowser Elementary School Library over three years to better meet user needs. Areas covered include: increasing foreign language materials, diversifying formats, increasing 4th grade SOL supplemental materials in both Reading 4.6 (nonfiction texts) and Mathematics 4.1 (fractions). Community needs were found through an environmental scan and collection analysis (both available below). This plan aligns with SPS (Suffolk Public Schools) and FBES stated missions, provides sample resources selected using professional selection principles/tools, and utilizes assessment strategies to clearly measure the impact of improvements in meeting community needs.
